Crimson Eve by Brandilyn Collins

Hi, my name is Tracy, and I’m an addict! I have finished the book Crimson Eve, which is the third in the Kanner Lake Series by Brandilyn Collins. Brandilyn is known for her trademark Seatbelt Suspense and with Crimson Eve she did not disappoint.

This was masterfully written, fast-paced and completely engaging. While it is a continuation of the Kanner Lake series, it differs in that it does not spend much time in Kanner Lake. Carla, the main character, is on the run, hiding from a dangerous man who is desperate to eliminate any possibility of a past secret coming to light. The story is brilliantly woven together with the threads of power and politics, ambition and conspiracy, and deception and betrayal. To the very last moment it was impossible to predict. This really was a thrilling and gripping. It’s time now for me to get my next fix. Amber Morn, I’m coming for you…

The Gift of Psalms

I recently received The Gift of Psalms devotional (Word of Promise series), and I must say that it is aptly named – it is a gift indeed! The book itself is high quality and truly beautiful, complete with a notes section at the end – though I’ll use a notebook for that purpose. The pages are heavy and somewhat reminiscent of parchment paper. This wonderful book even smells good!

Featuring 50 beloved Psalms and accompanying devotionals and prayers, written by Lori Jones, this book promises to be loved by many. You’ll enjoy going through the pages again and again. The Scriptures are all taken from the New King James Version, which is very pleasing.

In addition, there are three amazing CD’s featuring top Hollywood actors, who dramatize 30 of these amazing Psalms. Featuring Jason Alexander, Joan Allen, Sean Astin, Richard Dreyfuss, Harry Hamlin, Marcia Gay Harden, Stacy Keach, Jesse McCartney, Malcolm McDowell, Gary Sinise and Michael York. The CD’s are encased at the back of the book, making it easy to keep them together. Listening to them is a joy and a great way to internalize the Word of God.

I love this book and recommend it to anyone who loves the Word of God – especially the Psalms. It would make a great gift to give to others too. If you would like more information, or to purchase, please click here.

Coral Moon by Brandilyn Collins

Hi, my name is Tracy, and I’m an addict! I have finished the book Coral Moon, which is the second in the Kanner Lake Series by Brandilyn Collins. Brandilyn is known for her trademark Seatbelt Suspense and with Coral Moon she did not disappoint.

Ok, I normally like suspense and drama, but this was downright scary! There is a killer loose in Kanner Lake, but the twist is the supernatural element. Darkness permeates the town and things are not what they seem. There are twists and turns which will draw your breath. As much as I almost couldn’t put it down, I would not read it at night. Brandilyn doesn’t leave us hanging though, she clearly shows that we need not fear the darkness when we have the Light.

The small town of Kanner Lake is as charming as ever, even with the cloud of darkness which hangs over it in this one. We get to know the townsfolk a bit better and spend a little more time in the Java Joint, which is the town’s coffee shop. This really was a thrilling, but scary read and I’m glad I started, but was even more glad when I finished! It’s time now for me to get my next fix. Crimson Eve, I’m coming for you…

Crimson Eve
by Brandilyn Collins

Leslie Williams hurries out to her car on a typical workday morning – and discovers a dead body inside. Why was the corpse left for her to find? And what is the meaning of the message pinned to its chest?

In Coral Moon, the senseless murder of a beloved Kanner Lake citizen spirals the small Idaho town into a terrifying glimpse of spiritual forces beyond our world. What appears true seems impossible. Or is it?

Violet Dawn by Brandilyn Collins

Hi, my name is Tracy, and I’m an addict! I have just finished the book Violet Dawn, which is the first in the Kanner Lake Series by Brandilyn Collins. Brandilyn is known for her trademark Seatbelt Suspense and with Violet Dawn she did not disappoint.

If you like suspense and drama this book is for you. Of course, it is a page turner and after reading it, you’ll probably think twice before jumping into a darkened hot tub The characters are completely believable and enjoyable. Continually, I wanted to reach through the book to hug Paige, the main character, who had good reasons for her fear and loneliness. I generally enjoy the MC’s in the books I read, but this is the first time I remember feeling true empathy for one.

In addition, Brandilyn paints a wonderful picture of the small town of Kanner Lake, complete with beautiful north Idaho nature and quirky townsfolk. I loved the setting, the shops and the people. The whole murder thing aside, I really wanted to pack up my stuff and move there.

This really was a thrilling read and I’m glad I started. It’s time now for me to get my next fix. Coral Moon, I’m coming for you…
